Spring Has Sprung in NC

What a delight it was today in the Piedmont. Seventy degrees! I flung the windows and doors open to the air.

I thought about laying card board today for my vegetable garden. Then after spending few minutes walking around outside it was clear. Hard work is for another day. This day is to enjoy, survey the green peeking out of the ground. Looks like Lot's of tulips will make it. The squirrels did not feast on those as they did every bulb planted at the forest edge and walk ways.  Advise was given to put out a bucket of corn. Seems they will eat that before anything else. I learned the hard way, but life's lessons are some times that way. Had some Finches and a Cardinal come to the feeder today.  Looking  forward to the Eastern Blue Bird return  this year.  The Finch is alway's first on the scene here. Pretty soon there will be nests everywhere.

What BGMS Means: Hot Dog Spring is Coming!

BGMS is my nickname in our family, it stands for "Big Grandma Sassy". My daughter in law is "Little Sassy".
Now my Southern is showing. I was thinking today about how exciting it is that Spring is on the way. Last year for the first time I had Eastern Blue Birds nest in my yard. That event moved me to spend more time watching our feathered friends. I am delighted at the variety coming to feast. I have watched from afar in the past but this year I plan to snap pictures. I will post them. Maybe some of you can help me with identification. I have the books  but find that some birds look alike in those books. So, my world is about to expand with the Spring. Garden, Birds, and I am happy for it. Welcome, to all you backyard bird watchers.

Setting up to expand outside of EBay has been quite a task. One huge mistake I made early on was not to purchase a professional photo studio. The photo's used for web-site selling have to be so much better. I am as I speak awaiting my new studio. If all goes well I will be able to "wow" you with my Vintage Jewelry.
